Meet the Founder

Lauren Perez PhD, BCBA

Dr. Lauren Perez is a licensed psychologist, Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), National Register Health Service Psychologist, and trained school psychologist who is passionate about helping children, teens, and families thrive. She specializes in supporting young people with diverse developmental, emotional, and behavioral needs, including attention differences, anxiety, learning variations, feeding concerns, and social or emotional challenges.

Dr. Perez completed her pre-doctoral internship and post-doctoral fellowship in pediatric psychology at Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital in Baltimore, where she trained in interdisciplinary feeding therapy, integrated primary care, and behavioral health for children with complex medical and developmental needs. She later joined the hospital’s faculty before returning home to Arizona to establish her private practice, WholeChild Wellness.

Her approach is warm, collaborative, and holistic. She integrates emotional, behavioral, and physical health to support children and teens across home, school, and medical settings. Dr. Perez draws on play-based, relational, and behavioral interventions, blending psychology, education, and developmental science to create care plans that are individualized, practical, and deeply responsive to each child's strengths and family context.

Outside the office, Dr. Perez enjoys exploring the outdoors with her English springer spaniel, experimenting with new recipes, and spending time with loved ones. She also loves painting, making jewelry, trying new hobbies, and diving into whichever new subject has captured her curiosity that week.

Approach to Care

At the heart of Dr. Perez’s work is the belief that every child deserves care that honors their individuality and the way they experience the world.

She specializes in evidence-based and compassionate interventions that support growth in attention, executive functioning, anxiety, feeding (including ARFID), and emotional regulation.

Her approach blends behavioral strategies, health psychology principles, and family-centered care to help children and teens build meaningful skills while staying connected to their strengths.
